Real Brokerage settled a lawsuit with former CFO Michelle Ressler, who accused the company of pregnancy discrimination. Ressler was fired in April 2024 after returning from maternity leave. As part of the settlement, she agreed to reimburse Real for personal charges on her corporate card, with no payment from Real to her.

The lawsuit came during a challenging year for Real Brokerage, with its stock falling by nearly 20 percent. Despite this, the company nearly broke even in the third quarter, reporting a net loss of $280,000. It has seen rapid growth, increasing its transaction count by over 49 percent and adding 2,100 agents.

Real Brokerage’s gross margin fell to 7.9 percent in the quarter, attributed to high-performing agents paying $285 per transaction instead of a standard 15 percent split. The company also reported revenue from its agent banking option, Real Wallet. Ressler’s lawsuit alleged issues with this offering, resulting in duplicate commission payments and agents unable to access funds.
