Robinhood Markets and Susquehanna International Group are acquiring a 90% stake in LedgerX from Miami International Holdings for $50 million. They plan to establish a stronghold in prediction markets, introducing a futures and derivatives exchange and clearinghouse. The companies aim to capitalize on the rising interest in prediction markets since the U.S. federal court dismissed a CFTC prohibition on election betting. Other players like InPlay Global, Intercontinental Exchange, and Kalshi are also investing heavily in prediction markets. CME Group and CBOE are set to enter the prediction market arena as well.
