Indian shares closed marginally higher on Tuesday despite weak global cues. Oil prices dropped nearly 2% on concerns of a global demand slowdown due to interest rate hikes. The Sensex ended up 5.41 points at 62,792.88, and the Nifty settled 5.15 points higher at 18,599. Tata Motors, Grasim, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Divis Laboratories, and UltraTech Cement were among the top gainers. IT giants like Wipro, TCS, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra lost 1-2% after a cooling U.S. services sector report. ONGC fell 1% due to the decline in oil prices.
