The U.S. stock market saw a surge in the final minutes of trading before Nvidia’s quarterly earnings report on artificial intelligence. S&P 500 closed 0.4% higher, Dow gained 0.1%, and Nasdaq rose 0.6%.
Despite major events, S&P 500 remained stagnant most of the afternoon. BLS to release November employment report on Dec. 16 after Fed’s interest rate decision. Minutes from Fed’s prior meeting suggest rates may remain unchanged next month. Target and Lowe’s also shared earnings updates.
