The Switzerland stock market ended slightly weak on Friday due to concerns about the new virus variant. The benchmark SMI dropped to 12,175.77, down 0.01%. Partners Group and Logitech declined by 2.5% and 2.2% respectively, while Swiss Life Holding climbed 1.52%. In the Mid Price Index, Dufry declined 4.76% and Vifor Pharma ended 4.6% down. Switzerland has confirmed five cases of the new Omicron variant and imposed strict entry restrictions to check the spread, including a flight ban on direct flights from southern African countries. Julius Baer, Ems Chemie Holding, and Georg Fischer drifted down 1.8%, 1.4%, and 1.2% respectively.
