Tesla’s China sales hit a three-year low at 26,006 vehicles in October, a 35.8% drop from last year. Exports of China-made vehicles, however, reached a two-year high at 35,491 units. Tesla’s market share in China fell to 3.2%, its lowest in over three years, amidst struggles in Europe and mounting pressure in China.
Xiaomi’s electric vehicles, including the SU7 sedan and YU SUV, saw record sales of 48,654 units in China last month. This comes as the overall car sales in China fell due to weakened consumer sentiment and reduced government subsidies and tax breaks. Tesla faces challenges in the hyper-competitive market.
