The Dow is down 690 points or 1.5% due to pressure from its top stocks like Goldman Sachs, which saw a 2.5% drop. Microsoft, the third highest weighted stock, was down nearly 1%.
If the Dow closes lower today, it would mark the third consecutive trading day of losses, the longest streak since Oct. 10 when the index fell for five straight days.
