Treasuries started higher but ended flat on Monday, with the yield on the ten-year note at 4.306 percent. Retail sales in February only rose by 0.2 percent, less than expected, following a 1.2 percent drop in January. Excluding auto sales, retail sales increased by 0.3 percent. Stocks rallied as the data wasn’t as bad as feared, leading to less interest in bonds. Traders are waiting for the Federal Reserve’s announcement on Wednesday for clues on interest rates. Industrial production, housing starts, and import/export prices reports are expected on Tuesday.
