The U.S. trade deficit decreased to $59.6 billion in August from $78.2 billion in July, according to the Commerce Department. Economists had expected a decrease to $61.0 billion. Imports dropped by 5.1% to $340.4 billion, while exports increased by 0.1% to $280.8 billion.
