US Labor Secretary Advocates for Rate Cuts

US Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer responded to the “solid” September jobs report, urging the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported nonfarm payrolls increased by 119,000, while the unemployment rate rose to 4.4%, the highest in nearly four years, as the labor force expanded.
