Visa and Mastercard have reached a revised settlement with merchants over swipe fees. The agreement includes a payment of $6.24 billion to cover damages caused by inflated transaction fees. This settlement comes after a previous deal was rejected by a federal appeals court in 2019. Merchants are expected to benefit from reduced swipe fees in the future.
