Walmart appoints John Furner as president and CEO starting February 1, 2026, succeeding Doug McMillon. McMillon will step down on January 31 and remain as an advisor until June. The retailer has introduced AI-powered shopping features on its mobile app for the 2025 holiday season, including AI-generated shopping lists and store-specific savings recommendations.

The latest updates on Walmart’s mobile app also offer improved navigation features showing the exact in-store location of products. The company aims to enhance the shopping experience for customers through innovation and technology.
