Wolters Kluwer has announced the acquisition of Libra Technology GmbH, a legal AI assistant software provider based in Berlin, for up to €90 million. The deal includes an upfront payment of €30 million with the rest tied to performance targets. Libra’s AI assistant platform helps law firms and legal departments streamline research, drafting, review, and analytics tasks. The acquisition will combine Libra’s technology with Wolters Kluwer’s legal content to create a comprehensive solution for legal professionals. The deal is expected to be completed in November 2025.
Founded in 2023, Libra Technology GmbH has approximately 15 employees and is set to reach €5 million in annual recurring revenue by the end of this year. The acquisition is projected to achieve a return on invested capital above the company’s cost of capital within 3-5 years. Wolters Kluwer, a global leader in information solutions, reported annual revenues of €5.9 billion in 2024 and serves customers in over 180 countries.
