Norway’s DNO plans to drill eight new wells at the Tawke oil field in Kurdistan, aiming for a 25% increase in production capacity by 2026. The field has already produced over 500 million barrels, with current production at 80,000 bpd. Despite drone strikes on their installations, operations have continued uninterrupted. Exports finally resumed on September 27, 2025, under a new mechanism involving Iraq’s state marketer SOMO. DNO, operating in Kurdistan since 2004, remains committed to long-term investment as it enters a potentially highly productive phase.
