Europe has a strong opportunity to lead in agentic AI for healthcare, according to Oversonic Robotics’ CEO. While US and Asian markets dominate genAI, there is still room for Europe to excel in autonomous decision-making AI. Companies like Amazon and Nvidia have made significant genAI partnerships in healthcare.
AI in healthcare is growing rapidly, with a projected $19bn market by 2027. GenAI tools are already widely used, but agentic AI is still in development. Oversonic Robotics showcased RoBee, an agentic AI-powered assistant robot, at the Bloomberg Tech 2025 summit, aiming to support human workers in healthcare settings.
Robee, designed by Oversonic, is not meant to replace humans but to assist in healthcare settings. The robot has shown high acceptability levels during tests in neurorehabilitation wards. It focuses on providing various therapy exercises to patients, covering neurological, cognitive, motorial, and linguistic aspects.
Oversonic is seeking Class IIa medical device certification in Europe for Robee. Once approved, the robot will be commercially available for hospitals and healthcare facilities. Agentic AI presents a new opportunity for European players to emerge in the healthcare industry, offering a unique approach to supporting healthcare practitioners.
