BayWa r.e. closes financing for a solar-plus-storage installation in San Diego County, California. The Jacumba Valley Ranch (JVR) Energy Park is expected to be operational in 2026, with a total project funding of $416 million. The facility includes 90 MW of solar and 70 MW of battery storage.
Construction is underway on the JVR Energy Park, a significant renewable energy infrastructure investment in Southern California. The project has a tax credit transfer agreement with a large corporate buyer. The construction-to-term loan facility is led by Société Générale, with investments from Wafra Inc. and Acadia Infrastructure Capital, L.P.
More than 350 union construction jobs will be created during the construction of JVR Energy Park, with long-term operational roles to follow. BayWa r.e. has committed $4 million in direct investment to Jacumba Valley, with input from the Jacumba Community Sponsorship Group. The project also includes a fire protection agreement and a biological open space easement.
