Boeing Company announced the acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems, including Boeing-related commercial operations like fuselages for the 737 program and major structures for the 767, 777, and 787 Dreamliner. Boeing also acquired portions of Spirit AeroSystems’ operations in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Spirit AeroSystems’ commercial and aftermarket operations in Wichita, Kansas; Dallas, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Prestwick, Scotland will integrate into Boeing. U.S. Senator Jerry Moran sees the acquisition as a bridge between Seattle and Wichita. Boeing’s stock price is currently trading at $204.68, up 1.41 percent on the NYSE.
