Corn futures closed the week with a 3 cent loss, with March down 2 ½ cents. The national average Cash Corn price was $3.99 1/4. Commitment of Traders data showed managed money reducing their net short position by 71,479 contracts. USDA will release Export Sales data on Monday, looking for 1-2 MMT of corn bookings.

The monthly WASDE report is expected on Tuesday, with analysts forecasting 2.145 bbu of US corn ending stocks. The Argentina corn crop is 44% planted, behind last year’s 46% pace. Dec 25 Corn closed at $4.36 3/4, Nearby Cash was $3.99 1/4, Mar 26 Corn closed at $4.44 3/4, May 26 Corn at $4.52 1/4.
