Cotton futures fell on Tuesday, with prices down 72 to 84 points across front months due to pressure from the synthetic market. Crude oil futures also dropped by $1.65 per barrel to $55.17, while the US dollar index rose by $0.038 to $97.995. Monday’s online auction from The Seam saw sales of 15,641 bales at an average price of 59.57 cents/lb. ICE certified cotton stocks decreased by 1,497 bales on December 15, with a total of 12,474 bales. The Cotlook A Index was down 10 points at 73.85 cents, and the Adjusted World Price was updated to 50.39 cents/lb. Mar 26, May 26, and Jul 26 Cotton closed lower at 63.1, 64.26, and 65.38 points, respectively.
