Cotton futures closed lower on Monday, with contracts down 1 to 14 points. Crude oil futures rose by $1.43 per barrel to $57.95, while the US dollar index dropped $0.317 to $97.935. USDA’s Export Sales report showed 153,266 RB of cotton sold, a 3-week high but 10.19% lower than last year.

The 12/19 online auction saw 18,183 bales sold at an average price of 59.38 cents/lb. Cotlook A Index remained steady at 73.30 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks stayed at 12,396 bales. The Adjusted World Price was updated to 49.99 cents/lb, a 40 point decrease from the previous week.
