Cotton prices saw gains of 45 to 50 points on Monday, following a session where futures closed lower by 15 to 30 points. Managed money was net short 74,093 contracts of cotton futures and options as of 10/28, down 7,152 contracts from the previous week. The latest online auction showed 5,171 bales sold at an average price of 58.37 cents/lb. ICE certified cotton stocks were down 4,309 bales on December 4, with a total of 15,585 bales in certified stocks. The Adjusted World Price was updated to 51.28 cents/lb last week, up 51 points from the prior week.

The Cotlook A Index dropped 10 points on Thursday to 74.70 cents. Crude oil futures were up 47 cents per barrel at $60.14, while the US dollar index was $0.042 higher at $98.995. Dec 25 Cotton closed at 62.13, down 15 points, currently unchanged. Mar 26 Cotton closed at 63.93, down 15 points, currently up 50 points. May 26 Cotton closed at 65, down 23 points, currently up 43 points.
