Stock market selling accelerated on Tuesday, with the Nasdaq Composite down 0.5% and the S&P 500 down 0.8% in early afternoon trading. The Dow dropped 412 points, or 0.9%. Market breadth was poor, with over 410 stocks in the S&P 500 closing lower. The Nasdaq was set to fall for the fourth consecutive day, a first since April according to Dow Jones Market Data.
