Eni has secured a 10-year LNG sales agreement with Thailand’s Gulf Development Company for 0.8 million tons per annum, starting in 2027. This follows a smaller deal in 2024 and marks Eni’s first long-term LNG supply to Thailand. The move aligns with Eni’s goal to expand its LNG customer base in high-growth Asian markets.

The agreement reflects Gulf’s increasing demand for imported gas to offset declining domestic production. Eni aims to scale its LNG portfolio to 20 MTPA by 2030, with projects in Congo, Mozambique, the US, and Indonesia. This deal underscores Eni’s strategic effort to secure long-duration offtake in key markets.

Eni’s recent supply deals in Asia and the Mediterranean signal an expansion of its LNG marketing arm. The company is capitalizing on Asia’s demand for stable LNG supplies amid tightening balances. This move highlights Eni’s commitment to strengthening its presence in key markets and diversifying its customer base.
