France’s banking giant BPCE will allow customers to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and USDC via its mobile banking apps starting Dec. 8. The rollout begins with four regional banks serving two million clients, with plans to expand to all 29 regional banks by 2026. Crypto transactions will incur a €2.99 monthly fee and 1.5% trading fees. The move aligns with the EU’s MiCA implementation and France’s tightening compliance framework. The National Assembly approved a proposal for a crypto asset tax, now under review in the Senate. If passed, the tax would take effect on Jan. 1, 2026, pending Senate scrutiny. Gemini has already expanded services to France, indicating growing interest from global players.
