Meta announced the acquisition of Chinese-founded AI startup Manus to integrate advanced AI across its platforms. The deal values Manus between $2 billion and $3 billion. Manus claims its AI agent surpasses OpenAI’s DeepResearch and has a strategic partnership with Alibaba. Meta will operate and sell Manus services and integrate them into its products. Tech giants like Meta are increasing AI investments through acquisitions and talent hires. Manus, backed by Beijing Butterfly Effect Technology, raised $75 million this year with investors including Benchmark and Tencent Holdings.
