A Russian court ruled in favor of Rusal in a $1.32 billion lawsuit against Rio Tinto over a joint alumina refinery in Australia. The lawsuit was filed after losing a case to restore a stake in the plant. Australia imposed sanctions on Russia in response to the war in Ukraine, leading Rio to take sole control of the refinery. Rusal sought additional supplies from China and other countries, and announced plans to acquire stakes in India and build a new plant in Russia. Rusal also acquired a stake in a Chinese refinery.($1 = 79.2000 roubles)
