SONAR has released an updated and more comprehensive version of its Truckload Tender dataset, which measures truckload demand, capacity, and lead times. The dataset includes a more diverse shipper mix, improved regional coverage, and new indices like STVIV, STVIR, and STRI. Despite a mini-pickup in tender volume, overall freight demand levels remain disappointing.

The SONAR Truckload Volume Index (STVI) is down 3% year over year, reflecting relatively stable sectors like consumer packaged goods and food. The Outbound Tender Volume Index (OTVI) is down 11% year over year. Tender rejection rates are at 6.49%, with reefer and flatbed sectors experiencing more favorable conditions than the dry van sector.

Average spot rates have fluctuated, influenced by factors like diesel prices and labor laws enforcement. New data sets in SONAR show trends in English language proficiency violations and their impact on spot rates. The holiday season will provide insight into future freight market conditions.

The new tender datasets are live, offering valuable insights into the truckload market. For more information or a demo, reach out to your SONAR Account Manager or contact [email protected].
