Wabtec has acquired Frauscher Sensor Technology Group for €675m in cash. Frauscher, founded in 1987, specializes in railway sensing systems with a presence in over 100 countries. The acquisition is expected to generate €145m in revenue in 2025.

The deal aligns with Wabtec’s strategy to enhance innovation, productivity, safety, and reliability in the railway industry. The company aims to strengthen its Digital Intelligence business by incorporating Frauscher’s railway signalling technologies. This move will support its expansion into the railway signalling market.
