ABB Ltd. has been chosen by Bruce Power to upgrade excitation systems at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Ontario, supporting the life extension and efficiency of eight nuclear units. The contract, booked in Q4 2025, involves replacing existing systems with ABB’s UNITROL 6000 X-power technology. The first systems will be on-site by end of 2027, with engineering work over the next two years. The project aligns with Bruce Power’s Major Component Replacement program, aiming to refurbish Units 3 to 8 by 2033. ABB’s stock is up 1.49% at CHF 61.28 on the Swiss Stock Exchange.
