American International Group (AIG) appoints Eric Andersen as president and CEO-elect, succeeding Peter Zaffino, who will become executive chair by mid-year. Andersen’s tenure begins on 16 February 2026, reporting to Zaffino, and officially becoming CEO after 1 June 2026. Zaffino led initiatives resulting in over $19bn returned to shareholders via buybacks and dividends. Andersen, a former Aon executive, expresses excitement and readiness to lead AIG into the future. AIG also recently named Adam Clifford as CEO of its International Commercial Insurance division.
