Amazon is set to cut around 30,000 corporate jobs next week, affecting teams in AWS, retail, Prime Video, and HR. This represents nearly 10% of its corporate staff and the largest round of layoffs in its history, compared to 27,000 job losses in 2022.
In October 2025, Amazon cut 14,000 office jobs, half of the total planned cuts. The upcoming round is expected to be similar in size and could start as early as Tuesday. CEO Andy Jassy previously linked layoffs to AI adoption for efficiency.
Jassy hinted that Amazon’s corporate workforce will shrink over time due to AI automation of routine tasks. Many companies are utilizing AI to cut costs and streamline operations, reflecting a broader trend in the industry.
