The Kingdom of Bhutan is set to deploy a Sei Network validator in Q1, in collaboration with Druk Holding and Investments. This move is part of Bhutan’s digital transformation goals, including exploring opportunities in blockchain innovation, data valuation, and financial technology. Bhutan has also become a leader in crypto adoption, with nearly 800,000 residents using a self-sovereign ID system powered by Ethereum.

Eleanor Davies of Sei Development Foundation mentioned upcoming projects with Bhutan, such as tokenization and innovative collaborations. Bhutan holds the fifth-largest stash of Bitcoin globally, with over 11,000 coins worth over $1 billion, earmarked for projects like the Gelephu Mindfulness City. The US leads in Bitcoin holdings, while Bhutan is fifth.

Deutsche Telekom and Google Cloud are also running validators on various blockchains, including Injective, Polygon, Celo, and Cronos. This trend of companies joining the validator space reflects a growing interest in blockchain technology and its applications. The move towards validator participation demonstrates a broader adoption of blockchain technology in various industries.
