ContourGlobal has launched a 500MWh battery energy storage system in Bulgaria’s Stara Zagora region, boosting grid stability and flexibility. The project, funded by the EU’s NextGenerationEU initiative, integrates smoothly into the national electricity market, supporting renewable energy sources. ContourGlobal plans to build a second 202MW BESS on the same site. In the US, the company recently acquired a 446MW solar photovoltaic portfolio.
