Former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison is set to be released from federal custody after serving 440 days of a two-year sentence. Ellison, along with other FTX executives, was indicted on charges of fraud and money laundering after the collapse of FTX in November 2022. She testified against former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and accepted a plea deal. Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison, while Ellison received a 10-year officer-and-director ban. Other executives involved in the case have also faced legal consequences.
