Italy’s foreign ministry announced that the US has reduced proposed duties on Italian pasta makers after reviewing their US activities. Initially facing a 92% tariff starting in January 2026, La Molisana’s rate dropped to 2.26%, Garofalo’s to 13.98%, with 11 others at 9.09%. Italy’s pasta exports were over 4 billion euros in 2024, with the US market valued at nearly $800 million. Prime Minister Meloni’s ties with Trump did not prevent the tariffs.
