Feb Nymex natural gas prices closed up on Monday due to forecasts of colder US weather. Last Friday, prices hit a 2.5-month low with warmer weather predictions. US nat-gas production is high, with record levels and active rigs. Gas production and demand statistics were also reported by BNEF.

Electricity output in the US increased, supporting gas prices. EIA reported a larger-than-expected draw in nat-gas inventories last week. Gas storage in Europe is below average. Baker Hughes reported a slight decrease in active US nat-gas rigs last week.
