British fashion retailer Next is eyeing a cut-price deal for struggling womenswear label LK Bennett while the brand nears administration. Marks & Spencer and TFG London are also potential bidders. Next’s move aligns with its strategy of acquiring distressed brands, following previous purchases of Cath Kidston and others. LK Bennett’s current UK presence is reduced to nine standalone stores. The brand’s financial accounts show a post-tax loss of £3.5m. Linda Bennett sold and repurchased the company, with a previous administration in 2019 resulting in store closures.
