Indian state-owned companies shifted to non-sanctioned Russian firms. Kpler analyst predicts Russian oil flows to India to remain strong at 1.2-1.4 million barrels daily.
In 2025, OPEC’s share of Indian imports increased to 50% from 49% in 2024, while Russia’s share decreased from 36% to 33%. Russian oil flows to India dropped by 29% in December, as China increased imports by 23%. Despite predictions, Russian flows to India remained higher than expected due to new sanctions.
