Precious metals were the best-performing sector in Q4 2025, with gold, silver, platinum, and palladium showing bullish trends. The sector had a 30.27% gain in Q4 and a 103.73% gain for the entire year. Gold reached its ninth consecutive high in Q4, rising 13.03%. COMEX gold futures saw a 64.37% gain in 2025, settling at $4,341.10 per ounce on December 31. Silver also hit a new high in Q4, rising 51.38% and settling at $70.603 per ounce. Platinum and palladium also saw significant gains, with NYMEX platinum futures rising 28.39% and NYMEX palladium futures increasing by 28.27% in Q4 2025. The Physical Precious Metals Basket ETF (GLTR) rose 24.27% in Q4 and posted an 87.25% gain for the year. GLTR, which invests in physical gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, traded at $231.79 per share on January 12.
