Sweetgreen’s chief development officer, Chris Tarrant, is set to leave the fast-casual salad chain at the end of January for personal reasons. Tarrant joined Sweetgreen in 2024 from Nothing Bundt Cakes and previously worked at Starbucks. His departure follows co-founder Nathaniel Ru’s retirement and leadership changes amid declining sales. Sweetgreen plans to open fewer new locations this year to conserve cash, as it has not turned a profit since going public.
