United Airlines is projected to achieve record earnings in 2025 due to strong travel demand, with sales of premium seats, business travel, and no-frills tickets performing well. The carrier expects adjusted earnings per share between $12 and $14 this year, in line with analyst expectations. United’s unit revenue fell 1.6% in the fourth quarter, but premium revenue rose 9%. United CEO Scott Kirby is confident in the airline’s growth plan, with adjusted, full-year 2025 earnings at $10.20 a share, up 8% year over year. The longest-ever government shutdown in the fourth quarter impacted United’s pretax results by $250 million, but travel has since recovered.
