The US Senate Agriculture Committee is expected to release its version of the Digital Asset Markets Clarity (CLARITY) Act by Wednesday, with a markup hearing scheduled for the following Tuesday. However, concerns over decentralized finance restrictions and Coinbase’s withdrawal of support for the bill may hinder its progress.

White House crypto adviser Patrick Witt stated that there will be a crypto market structure bill, emphasizing the need for a regulatory framework for the industry. It remains uncertain whether the bill will have enough political momentum to pass through both the agriculture and banking committees.

US President Donald Trump expressed his intention to sign the market structure bill into law “very soon” during the World Economic Forum. However, ongoing discussions between Coinbase and White House officials may impact the bill’s progress. The upcoming midterm elections in November could also interfere with efforts to pass the legislation.
