US private equity firm Warburg Pincus is considering selling London-based insurance broker McGill and Partners, potentially valuing the business at over $1bn. The firm may launch a formal sales process later this year. McGill and Partners, founded in 2019, reported significant revenue and earnings growth in the first half of 2025.

Warburg Pincus initially invested in McGill in 2019 and later moved the business into a multi-asset vehicle with support from other partners. McGill secured $300m in credit facilities last September for future growth. The firm also reportedly considered selling its stake in Indian insurer IndiaFirst Life Insurance for over $1.1bn.

The potential sale of McGill and Partners was reported by Bloomberg and sources remain anonymous. The management team at McGill and Partners declined to comment on the situation, focusing on business operations and long-term growth strategies. Warburg Pincus continues to explore strategic options for the insurance broker.
