Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) and Meta Platforms Inc. (META) have formed a strategic partnership to deploy up to 6 gigawatts of AMD Instinct GPUs for Meta’s AI infrastructure. Shipments for the first 1-gigawatt deployment are set to start in the second half of 2026 using custom AMD Instinct GPUs and EPYC processors.

The collaboration aims to optimize AI platforms for Meta’s workloads by aligning silicon, systems, and software roadmaps. Dr. Lisa Su, AMD’s CEO, highlighted the partnership’s focus on delivering high-performance, energy-efficient infrastructure for Meta’s AI deployment. Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, expressed excitement about deploying efficient inference compute and personal superintelligence.

In exchange for performance-based milestones, AMD issued Meta a warrant for up to 160 million shares of AMD stock. The partnership is expected to drive significant revenue growth and positively impact AMD’s earnings per share over time. Both companies anticipate a long-term collaboration to support Meta’s diverse compute needs.
