Swiss energy company Axpo Group has signed a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Spanish renewable energy operator Enhol, supplying 3.7TWh of electricity to cover all of Enhol’s wind assets in Spain. This is the largest PPA signed by Axpo Iberia, supporting Enhol’s renewable energy reorganisation in Europe.

The deal aims to provide income stability for Enhol and highlights the growing importance of PPAs as crucial risk management tools in changing electricity markets. The 3.7TWh agreement will power approximately 175,000 households and reduce annual CO₂ emissions by over 160,000t.

Axpo Iberia CEO Ignacio Soneira stated that the agreement showcases their ability to structure large-scale transactions in the evolving energy landscape, contributing to a stable, competitive, and decarbonised energy system. Enhol, an independent family-owned company, operates in over 20 countries across four continents and is a key player in Spain’s renewable energy sector.

With over 20 years of partnership, Enhol has been a loyal customer of Axpo Iberia, further solidifying Axpo’s position as a valuable partner for renewable energy producers. The agreement reinforces Enhol’s stability and strategic evolution in the European renewable business, emphasizing long-term financial management and partnerships with top-tier companies.

Axpo Iberia, founded in 2001, offers market representation, control centre services, energy efficiency solutions, and a variety of energy sources. In January 2025, Axpo Nordic, part of the Axpo Group, signed a long-term corporate PPA with Finnish renewable energy investor and producer Exilion Tuuli Ky.
