Oklo and NuScale Power are two key players in the nuclear technology sector. Oklo’s reactor is designed to be more efficient with specialized fuel, while NuScale is the only SMR developer with regulatory approval to build its reactor. Oklo’s micro reactor can provide clean, continuous energy without refueling for a decade or more. NuScale, on the other hand, has an NRC design certification for its reactor design and generates some revenue. Both companies are high-risk, high-reward investments, but Oklo’s smaller, more flexible reactor design may give it an edge in the long term. Oklo also recently acquired Atomic Alchemy to expand into radioisotopes for near-term revenue growth.
