Elevra Lithium has signed a non-binding MoU with Mangrove Lithium for spodumene concentrate supply, potentially delivering up to 144,000tpa from the NAL project starting in 2028. Mangrove plans to convert the concentrate into battery-grade lithium hydroxide in Canada, supporting the domestic battery supply chain and powering 500,000 electric vehicles.
Mangrove’s recent $85m funding round backs its refining platform, offering environmental and cost advantages. Elevra sees the MoU as a strategic move to align with a local downstream partner, reducing logistics costs and enhancing NAL project viability. The collaboration supports Canadian governmental initiatives for domestic battery production and secure critical minerals supply chains.
