The European Investment Bank (EIB) commits €60 million to launch a financing platform with Solas Capital to advance energy efficiency projects for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe. The platform aims to reduce energy costs and carbon footprint, mobilizing almost €400 million for technologies like LED lighting and rooftop solar systems.

The EIB Group Energy Efficiency for SMEs Initiative, supported by the European Commission, plans to provide €17.5 billion in financing for up to 350,000 SMEs in Europe to reduce energy costs and carbon footprint. Partnered with the Solar Impulse Foundation, the initiative exceeded its 2025 target, delivering €6 billion for energy efficiency projects for SMEs.
