Crypto exchange Kraken has pledged to support Trump Accounts, a savings plan for American children under 18, following a call from US President Donald Trump. Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis announced the move, with Kraken funding all Trump Accounts created for newborns in Wyoming due to the state’s favorable regulatory climate. Kraken did not disclose the amount of funding for each eligible newborn.
Kraken lauded Wyoming for enabling it to be the US’s first Special Purpose Depository Institution and for launching the Frontier Stable Token. Trump Accounts are a new type of retirement account for children under 18, with the federal government seeding accounts with $1,000 for children born between 2025 and 2028. Traditional finance giants like JPMorgan, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo have also shown support for Trump Accounts.
In another act of giving back, blockchain-based prediction market platform Polymarket opened a free grocery store in New York City and pledged to donate 3 million meals across the five boroughs. This followed a similar move by prediction-market competitor Kalshi, which offered a $50 grocery giveaway to over 1,000 Manhattan residents.
