Steward Partners adds advisors from Raymond James & Associates, including the Silcox & Avonda Wealth Management team in Stuart, Fla. The team managed $716 million in client assets and joins as executive managing directors at Steward.
Peter Silcox and Peter Avonda led the team, with Silcox having 15 years and Avonda having 13 years of experience at Raymond James. They are joined by Melissa Larson, Joseph Jones IV, and five client administrative managers at Steward.
Steward attracted Silcox with its ability to exercise discretion in managing client portfolios. The firm added 11 new advisor teams and individual advisors in 2025, representing nearly $4 billion in client assets and opening seven new offices across the US.
Steward, based in Stamford, Conn., has 628 partners, 301 advisors, and 80 offices in the US. The RIA transitioned from a 1099 independent contractor model to a W-2 integration framework for future hires about three years ago. Steward Partners Investment Solutions is its broker/dealer.
In late 2025, Steward secured $475 million in capital from Ares Management, in the form of a non-controlling minority stake and an expanded lending relationship.
